Katja Kean, Anaïs and Mark Duran star in the erotic feature film "Constance". A production of Zentropa's adult division, Puzzy Power, "Constance" is a hardcore fantasy for women and couples.
Since it was created in 1992, Zentropa Productions has become Scandinavia's biggest and most important film studio. Amongst Zentropa's best known feature films are Lars von Trier's Oscar-nominated "Breaking the Waves", which also took the Grand Prix at Cannes, his musical "Dancer in the Dark", which won the Golden Palms for Best Film and Best Actress, and "Dogville", starring Nicole Kidman and James Caan. Zentropa is also famous for the Dogme95-manifesto.
Puzzy Power was created by Zentropa in 1997 with the purpose to produce sexually explicit feature films for women. As a foundation for this creativity, it hatched the Puzzy Power Manifesto, a statement on women and sensuality, exploring today's growing awareness that women like watching erotic or pornographic films if the presentation turns them on rather than off.
"Constance", the first film produced according to the Puzzy Power Manifesto, immediately became the most successful Danish sex video ever.
Written and directed by internationally celebrated video artist Knud Vesterskov, "Constance" plays with a kaleidoscopic pattern of sexual archetypes presented in a meditative, highly aesthetic art house style.
It tells the story of a young girl, Constance (Anaïs), and her experiences in the house of Lola (Katja Kean), where she is initiated into the secrets of erotic desire and pleasure.
In 2001 "Constance" received three AVN Award nominations for Best Art Direction, Best Music and Best Videography. In March 2006, it was one of the three films responsible for the legalizing of pornographic films in Norway.
Now, for the first time, thanks to a new DVD-release, "Constance" can be enjoyed by audiences outside Europe.
The new DVD release also includes an optional English language soundtrack, where Constance is played by Helle Fagralid, star of the Academy Award-winning film "Between Us".
